2023-24 Women’s College Basketball odds: South Carolina favored for title, LSU in the hunt

The women’s college basketball season is heating up, and the two-time national champion South Carolina Gamecocks are the favorites to win it all.

The Gamecocks’ odds shortened from +350 to +320 for 11-0 South Carolina.

The reigning national champion LSU Lady Tigers remain second on the oddsboard.

The Tigers, who received a significant boost during the offseason via the transfer portal with the addition of Hailey Van Lith and Aneesah Morrow, opened the season at +230.

They are at +350 after being at+450 last week. LSU is on a 12-game winning streak after opening the season with a loss to Colorado.

Tied for third are the UCLA Bruins and the Iowa Hawkeyes at +900.

The race for the John Wooden Women’s Player of the Year will be an interesting one because of a rarity among the contenders.

The women’s game features two previous winners of the Wooden Award. Iowa‘s Caitlin Clark won it last season, and UConn’s Paige Bueckers won it as a freshman in 2021.

Clark’s odds remained at -140. Clark leads the nation in scoring at 30.5 points per game.

Stanford forward Cameron Brink remains second on the odds list at +600.

LSU’s Angel Reese, the Most Outstanding Player of last season’s tournament, is third at +1000.

Bueckers’ odds dipped from +1000 to +1200, as the Huskies are off to a 9-3 start.
