2023-24 Wooden Award odds: Zach Edey favored, Terrence Shannon rising
The anticipation surrounding the coveted Wooden Player of the Year award in men’s college basketball is intensifying.
Purdue center and reigning National Player of the Year Zach Edey is the clear front-runner to secure the prestigious honor again.
Edey’s odds were +210 in early December. Now those odds have shortened slightly to -230 from -210 last week, making the Boilermaker an even heavier favorite to win the award.
Edey averages a double-double at 24 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.
Let’s dive into the list of the top contenders.
2023-24 JOHN WOODEN AWARD ODDS: *
Zach Edey, Purdue: -230 (bet $10 to win $14.35 total)
Hunter Dickinson, Kansas: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total)

The next player on the board is Kansas’ Hunter Dickinson. His odds lengthened from +370 to +1200 over the last week.
Like front-runner Edey, Dickinson is averaging a double-double at 18.3 points and 12.5 rebounds per game. Both players anchor top-five teams in the country, with Purdue at No. 1 and Kansas at No. 2.
Making a big move up the oddsboard is Terrence Shannon Jr.
Last week, Shannon was in a three-way tie for fourth at +3500 with Tyson Walker and Kevin McCullar. Now that he’s averaging 21.7 points and 4.5 rebounds a game, his odds to win the Wooden have shortened to +1500.
