2023 Heisman Trophy odds: Michael Penix Jr. favored, Bo Nix closing in
The 9-0 Washington Huskies and 8-1 Oregon Ducks are in a battle for the Pac-12 Conference championship.
Meanwhile, their quarterbacks – Michael Penix Jr. of the Huskies and Bo Nix of the Ducks – are engaged in another duel, one for the Heisman Trophy.
After leading Washington to another victory, Penix Jr. remained atop the oddsboard as the favorite to win the award. He saw his odds of winning the award shorten considerably from +270 to +140.
Penix Jr.’s odds shifted after he went 23-for-30 passing (76.7%) for 256 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the 52-42 win over reigning Heisman winner Caleb Williams and the USC Trojans on Saturday night.
While the Washington QB solidifies his case for the Heisman, Nix is also shooting up the board.
Nix was at +550, fourth on the oddsboard, prior to Oregon’s 63-19 win over California. After going 29-for-38 (76.3%) for 386 yards with four touchdown passes and running for two touchdowns, his odds to win the award shortened to +185.
Let’s look at the latest Heisman Trophy odds as the race is heating up.
