2024 College Basketball championship odds: Purdue favored, Kansas tumbles
The men’s college basketball title race is heating up and the odds are telling the story as it all unfolds.
The Purdue Boilermakers remain the betting favorite to win it all at +700. Those odds are slightly shorter than where they were a week ago at +750.
Center Zach Edey and the Boilermakers have won five in a row and 12 of their last 13.

Tied with the Huskies are the Houston Cougars, who also went to +900 from +1000. Kelvin Sampson’s squad has won four in a row after a two-game losing skid.

Fanta sang the praises of Dan Hurley’s Huskies after a wild week in college basketball that included multiple upsets.
“In the midst of all that chaos, here’s what is for certain: UConn deserves the title of the best team in college basketball and the front-runner for the national championship,” Fanta said. “This isn’t simply based off Sunday’s 99-56 throttling of Xavier in which the Huskies shot 17-of-29 from 3-point range. The 43-point margin of victory was Connecticut’s second-largest in a Big East game and the largest since 2008 (Cincinnati).
“I really don’t see any flaws in this UConn team. Of course, we know anything can happen in March, but if this team doesn’t at least make the Elite Eight, I’d be a bit surprised, based on how complete they look.”
Taking a tumble were the Arizona Wildcats, whose odds fell to +1600 from +1100 after getting upset by Oregon State 83-80 on Thursday.
Another team whose odds fell were the Kansas Jayhawks, who went to +3000 from +2300 after losing 79-75 at Iowa State on Saturday in a bad beat for Cyclones bettors who gave the 4.5 points.
