2024 March Madness odds: UConn favored to win NCAA Tournament
And then there were four.
March Madness has been — in the best way — absolutely mad!
Twelve underdogs in the Round of 64 won outright, including No. 14 Oakland defeating No. 3 Kentucky 80-76 in the second round, which was great for the sportsbooks.
And then there were a couple of Sweet 16 stunners. No. 1 North Carolina fell 89-87 to No. 4 Alabama, and No. 2 Arizona lost 77-72 to No. 6 Clemson.
Now that we are down to the Final Four, the defending champion UConn Huskies remain the overwhelming favorites to win the men’s college basketball national title.
Let’s look at the updated FanDuel Sportsbook odds to cut down the nets in Phoenix.
2023-24 NCAA MEN’S BASKETBALL TITLE ODDS: *
UConn Huskies: -185 (bet $10 to win $15.41 total)
Purdue Boilermakers +195 (bet $10 to win $29.50 total)
Alabama Crimson Tide: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total)
NC State: +1800 (bet $10 to win $190 total)
* odds as of 4/1/24
UConn has been nothing short of a juggernaut so far in the tournament, winning its four games 39, 17, 30 and 25. And in those four victories, the Huskies have had a different leading scorer three times, an ode to their balanced offensive attack.
“[Donovan] Clingan and the Huskies showed the college basketball world that this year’s national championship is theirs to lose,” said FOX Sports college hoops analyst John Fanta after UConn’s drubbing of Illinois on Saturday. “They have won their four NCAA Tournament games by a combined 111 points, an average of 27.8 points per win.
“The largest margin of victory for a national champion belongs to Kentucky at 21.5 PPG, back in 1996.”
