When does the 2024 MLB season start?

The 2024 MLB season began overseas with a matchup between the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Dodgers in Seoul, South Korea. The Dodgers and Padres played on Wednesday, March 20 and Thursday, March 21. This was the first time an official MLB game had been played in South Korea. Tyler Glasnow got his second Opening Day start for the Dodgers and Yu Darvish started for the Padres. This was Darvish’s fourth Opening Day start.

The Dodgers won the opening game 5-2.
