2024 NBA Championship odds: Celtics clinch title with Game 5 win over Mavs

The Celtics defeated the Mavericks in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday night, bringing to a close the 2023-24 NBA season by dominating the playoffs — Boston went 16-3 in the postseason.

Entering Game 5 on Monday, at DraftKings Sportsbook, the Celtics were heavy favorites to win the game (-6.5) and close out the series (-1800 to win the series).

Over the course of the season, Boston went 80-21 in the regular season and playoffs. Its title odds never went lower than +450 on the season.

At the conclusion of Game 5, in somewhat of a shock, Jaylen Brown took home the Finals MVP award, despite Jayson Tatum being the heavy favorite via the live odds.

Now, heading into next season, at FanDuel Sportsbook, the Celtics are favored to win the title once again (+300), followed by the Denver Nuggets (+750) and Minnesota Timberwolves (+850).

Dallas is fourth on the board at +900.
