2024 NCAA Tournament projections: Iowa State on the rise, Kansas falls
This weekend featured a wild, jam-packed slate of college hoops, with plenty of upsets, close finishes and standout performances.
With that said, it’s time for FOX Sports bracket forecaster Mike DeCourcy to release his updated NCAA Tournament projections.
UConn (East), Houston (South), Purdue (Midwest) and Arizona (West) remain on the top line in DeCourcy’s latest projections. The Cougars, Boilermakers and Wildcats all notched wins on Saturday, while UConn won on Sunday.
North Carolina, Marquette, Tennessee remain on the 2-line, while Iowa State jumps up to a No. 2 seed after winning three straight. Meanwhile, Kansas fell to a No. 3 seed following an 82-74 loss to Baylor, which marked the Jayhawks’ second straight defeat. Kansas is joined by Baylor, Duke and Alabama on the 3-line. The Blue Devils notched an impressive win over Virginia on Saturday.
Kentucky, Auburn, Creighton and Illinois are listed as the No. 4 seeds in DeCourcy’s latest projections.
Outside the top-four seeds, other notable teams appearing in DeCourcy’s projections include: San Diego State (No. 5 seed), Wisconsin (No. 6 seed), Michigan State (No. 9 seed), Texas (No. 9 seed) and a pair of Big East teams — Villanova and Seton Hall (No. 11 seeds).
