2024 NFL Coach of the Year odds: Kevin O’Connell favored after Week 3
The NFL Coach of the Year race is one, like player awards, that will see a ton of fluctuation throughout the season.
For instance, on July 8, the preseason favorite to win the award was Bears coach Matt Eberflus, at +900.
Well, we see how things are going in Chicago, and now Eberflus is 23rd on the oddsboard.
Let’s check out the latest odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Sept. 24.
2024-25 NFL Coach of the Year odds:
Kevin O’Connell, Vikings: +350 (bet $10 to win $45 total)
Mike MacDonald, Seahawks +500 (bet $10 to win $60 total)
Jim Harbaugh, Chargers: +900 (bet $10 to win $100 total)
Mike Tomlin, Steelers: +1000 (bet $10 to win $110 total)
Matt LaFleur, Packers: +1100 (bet $10 to win $120 total)
Dan Quinn, Falcons: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total)
Dennis Allen, Saints: +1400 (bet $10 to win $150 total)
Robert Saleh, Jets: +1400 (bet $10 to win $150 total)
Just last week, Harbaugh was atop the oddsboard at +650, but his Chargers suffered their first loss of the season at Pittsburgh.
Harbaugh is no stranger to the award, having won in 2011-12, after he led the San Francisco 49ers to a 13-3 record and an NFC West title in his first season with the organization.
The new No. 1 is the Vikings’ O’Connell, after Minnesota moved to 3-0 with a 34-7 demolition of Houston on Sunday.
“On top of the NFC North with the NFL’s passing touchdowns leader after three weeks, just like everyone predicted,” FOX Sports NFL reporter wrote Dave Helman in his most recent power rankings. “And the fun thing is that I don’t think this is a fluke. Brian Flores’ defense has shut down San Francisco and Houston in back-to-back weeks. If the Vikings can do that, there won’t be many opponents that can pull away from these guys. And if Sam Darnold can just continue avoiding reckless decisions, this is a tough formula to beat.”
Also firmly in the mix is Seattle’s MacDonald, a first-year head coach who has his team at 3-0 to start the season. His odds shortened from +700 to +500 over the past week, after the Seahawks defeated the Dolphins in Week 3.
