2024 NFL Defensive Player of the Year odds: Watt favored after Hutchinson injury
Week 6 of the NFL season has come and gone, and there was a major shift at the top of the oddsboard due to an unfortunate injury to the player who held the shortest odds for weeks.
Detroit’s Aidan Hutchinson had held on to the top spot dating back to Week 2, but he suffered a fractured tibia and fibula against the Cowboys in Week 6.
He is presumed out for at least the rest of the regular season, and with that, he fell off the board entirely.
How do the rankings look now?
Here’s a list of the favorites to win 2024 NFL Defensive Player of the Year via DraftKings Sportsbook as of Oct. 15.
NFL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR ODDS:
T.J. Watt, Steelers: +100 (bet $10 to win $20 total)
Will Anderson Jr., Texans: +450 (bet $10 to win $55 total)
Chris Jones, Chiefs: +600 (bet $10 to win $70 total)
Nick Bosa, 49ers: +600 (bet $10 to win $70 total)

Hutchinson exited the regular season as the league-leader in sacks with 7.5. Second is the Giants’ Dexter Lawrence, who has seven through six weeks.
Lawrence’s odds jumped from +1600 to +750 after he recorded one sack against the Bengals in Week 6.
As for other names moving up the oddsboard, the Texans’ Will Anderson Jr. catapulted to second on the oddsboard this week. Against New England in Week 6, he had three sacks, four tackles for loss, three QB hits and a pass defended.
Lastly, Watt is now first on the board after recording two tackles for loss and two forced fumbles during the Steelers’ win over the Raiders on Sunday.
