2024 NFL odds: Tyreek Hill favored for OPOY; Amon-Ra St. Brown surging

Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins led the NFL in receiving yards (1,799) last season and was the co-leader in receiving touchdowns (13).

And from a betting perspective, “The Cheetah” opened as the favorite to win the Offensive Player of the Year next season at +700.

Hill is the first NFL player with a second consecutive 1,700-yard receiving season, and he’s coming off his first team All-Pro season.

With the new season on the horizon, he has held steady at the top of the betting board.

However, Amon-Ra St. Brown is surging up the board, moving to +1800 after opening at +2800.

Hill said he is ready to focus on playing after several off-field incidents over the years.

“So this year is gonna be a whole lot better man, because I finally got a glance of what it actually looks like if I clean up a lot of things in my life,” Hill said.

Second on the board is San Francisco’s Christian McCaffrey at +850.

CMC opened at +900, but with kickoff on the horizon, those odds have moved slightly.

McCaffrey won OPOY last season, with Hill finishing second.

A player whose odds are surging is Amon-Ra St. Brown.

He opened at +2800 but now sits at +1800. In 2023 for the Lions, he had 119 receptions (second in the league) for 1,515 yards (third) and 10 touchdowns (tied for fourth).

The OPOY was created in 1972 to complement the MVP award, which is often dominated by quarterbacks.

QBs have won the MVP 11 years in a row and 16 of the past 17 seasons, with Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson winning MVP in 2012.
