2024 NFL Offensive Player of the Year odds: Barkley favored; Hill, CMC tumble
Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins led the NFL in receiving yards (1,799) last season and was the co-leader in receiving touchdowns (13), which explains why he was the early favorite to win Offensive Player of the Year.
However, a concussion suffered by his quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in Week 2 appears to have cratered Hill’s chances, at least according to the sportsbooks.
Hill finished second in the award race to the Niners’Christian McCaffrey last year, and McCaffrey is no longer in the running as well, after San Francisco placed its star running back on IR this week.
So if not Hill or McCaffrey, who will be named the league’s top offensive star this season?
Here’s a look at the latest odds from DraftKings Sportsbook as of Sept. 17.
NFL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR ODDS:
Saquon Barkley, Eagles RB: +500 (bet $10 to win $60 total)
CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys WR: +850 (bet $10 to win $95 total)
Justin Jefferson, Vikings WR: +1000 (bet $10 to win $110 total)
De’Von Achane, Dolphins RB: +1400 (bet $10 to win $150 total)
Breece Hall, Jets RB: +1400 (bet $10 to win $150 total)
Bijan Robinson, Falcons RB: +1400 (bet $10 to win $150 total)
Tyreek Hill, Dolphins WR: +1600 (bet $10 to win $170 total)
Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals WR: +2000 (bet $10 to win $210 total)
Nico Collins, Texans WR: +2000 (bet $10 to win $210 total)
Alvin Kamara, Saints RB: +2000 (bet $10 to win $210 total)
Hill jumped from +700 to +550 after his Week 1 outing, but now he’s all the way down at +1400. In Week 2, he had three catches for 24 yards and one rush for 12 yards.
McCaffrey is now at +10000.
For the second consecutive week, the Eagles’ new running back Barkley made a leap up the board. In Week 1, he rushed for 109 yards and two scores, and also caught a touchdown. And with that, he moved from +2200 all the way down to +850.
In Week 2, he tallied 95 rushing yards on 22 carries, and also caught four passes for 21 yards, moving his odds to +500.
Moving into second on the oddsboard is Lamb, who was third last week. His odds jumped from +1000 to +850. In addition, Jefferson moved from +1400 to +1000, and now sits third on the oddsboard.
