NFL Insider Dave Helman praised the front-runner Niners last week on the NFL on FOX Podcast saying, “San Francisco looks like the team to beat in the NFL.” And Helman sang their praises again this week after the squad defeated the Arizona Cardinals 45-29 in Week 15.
“The Niners go to Arizona, they whoop up on the Cardinals, and they are back-to-back NFC West champs. We know they’re dominant. That’s what they do.”
The 49ers get to put their moxie to the test on Christmas Day as they face the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore’s Super Bowl futures shortened slightly from +600 to +550 – best among AFC teams – after the squad toppled Jacksonville 23-7 in Week 15 for the Ravens’ eighth win in nine games.
The Dallas Cowboys, on the other hand, saw their odds lengthen after getting gobsmacked by the Buffalo Bills 31-10 on Sunday Night Football.
“As I’ve been trying to tell you all year long,” Undisputed co-host Keyshawn Johnson said on Monday’s show as he recapped the huge Cowboys loss, “the middle of your defense — your linebacking core — that group is supposed to shed the blocks and defend the run. They did not do that.”
Dallas’ odds to win it all lengthened from +850 to +1000.
Another team whose odds took a tumble are Mike Tomlin’s Pittsburgh Steelers.
Heading into Week 14, their odds to win the Super Bowl were +14000. After losing 30-13 to the Colts in Week 15, the 7-7 Steelers saw their odds to win the Super Bowl lengthen to +60000.
