Acuna’s injury has lengthened the Braves’ World Series futures, and FOX Sports MLB writer Rowan Kavner now thinks Atlanta might have a tough road ahead. Kavner wrote, “their chances of winning a title take a substantial hit, and the road ahead is significantly more treacherous now.”
While Atlanta’s odds have moved down the board, the Twins are moving on up.
In addition to Minnesota’s World Series futures moving to +2000 from +2500 over the last week, FOX Sports co-host Ben Verlander moved the team up one spot in his weekly power rankings.
He wrote: The Twins move up a spot after taking two out of three in a solid, hard-fought series against the Astros in Houston this past weekend following a similarly competitive yet victorious series versus the Royals. Minnesota is playing like the team we expected it to be before the season.
At 33-26, Minnesota currently has the third-best record in the AL’s Central Division and has the ninth-best winning percentage in all of MLB.
