2024 World Series odds: Dodgers hold steady; Phillies on the move
The MLB season is gaining momentum, and the Dodgers and Braves remain favorites to win the World Series.
Los Angeles had a busy offseason. In addition to signing reigning American league MVP Shohei Ohtani, L.A. traded for right-hander Tyler Glasnow and signed Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
While the Dodgers have not disappointed so far, the Phillies’ odds are moving up the board.

Over the last week, Philadelphia’s World Series odds surged to +950 from +1200.
After slotting them second last week, FOX Sports MLB analyst Ben Verlander moved the Phillies into the top spot of his weekly power rankings.
Wrote Verlander: “We’ve got a new team at the top. The Phillies earned the No. 1 spot after an 8-2 stretch and playing elite baseball for the past few weeks. Bryce Harper had a three-game home run streak last week, while Alec Bohm has remained one of the best hitters in the National League (.338/.400/.534). Philadelphia will need his production with Trea Turner sidelined for a bit. Ranger Suárez added to his early Cy Young case Saturday with seven shutout innings. He now ranks second in ERA (1.50) and first in WHIP (0.72) among qualified starters.”
Verlander also named Phillies’ Bryce Harper his Player of the Week.
“The Phillies are rolling right now and Harper is front and center. The man was seemingly born to play baseball in Philadelphia. He still needs a World Series ring, though, and appears hungrier than ever to get one. This is where I remind you that the Phillies are my preseason World Series pick.”
