2025 March Madness odds: Kansas Jayhawks new favorites
The UConn Huskies won the 2024 NCAA men’s March Madness tournament by defeating the Purdue Boilermakers 75-60.
The win equaled back-to-back titles for the Huskies.
Immediately following the UConn-Purdue matchup, Duke opened as the favorite to win it all next year at +1000.
However, three weeks later, Kansas catapulted to the top of the board, moving to +1000 from +1400 to claim the spot as the new favorite.
Let’s take a closer look at the early NCAA tournament betting board at DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Jayhawks are surging as the new favorites partially because Hunter Dickinson announced his return to Kansas.
“With Dickinson returning to a Kansas team that has been one of the biggest winners in the transfer portal, the Jayhawks are fully loaded,” FOX Sports college basketball reporter John Fanta wrote. “Before we even knew if Dickinson was coming back officially, I had Kansas as my No. 1 team in the FOX Sports way too early Top 25 2.0.”
Fanta is also high on UConn — the team that just landed Saint Mary’s transfer Aidan Mahaney.
He originally said about UConn, “I’m not getting fooled again … Connecticut is No. 1 until further notice,” before moving the Huskies to his No. 2 spot.
