A program has not three-peated since John Wooden’s UCLA Bruins won six in a row from 1967 to 1973.
Since then, programs that have won two titles in a row include Duke (91-92), Florida (06-07), and the aforementioned UConn (23-24).
UConn comes into this season ranked No. 3, and will open its bid for another title on Nov. 6 against Sacred Heart. Its first real test will come on Dec. 4 against No. 8 Baylor.
The No. 1 team in the country entering the season is the Kansas Jayhawks, who return two-time second-team All-American Hunter Dickinson.
