At the end of April, Shedeur Sanders opened as the favorite to be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

However, even after a stellar Week 1 performance, he’s now second on the board as the college football season ramps up and the NFL season kicks off.

Let’s take a look at the odds to be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft at DraftKings Sportsbook as of Sept. 4.

2025 NFL DRAFT NO. 1 PICK ODDS:

Sanders was statistically one of the best quarterbacks in the nation in his first season in the FBS last year, completing 69.3% of his passes for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and three interceptions.

In Colorado’s Week 1 win over North Dakota State, Sanders completed 26 of 34 passes, finishing with 445 passing yards, four touchdowns and one interception.

Still, the Buffs eked out a 31-26 victory, while Carson Beck’s No. 1 Bulldogs dominated then-No. 14 Clemson 34-3.

Beck went 23-for-33 passing for 278 yards and two touchdowns.

FOX Sports NFL Draft expert Rob Rang has Sanders going ninth in his first 2025 NFL mock draft, being the second quarterback off the board behind Texas’ Quinn Ewers.

“Despite what his gaudy statistics suggest, Sanders won’t be a fit for every team,” Rang wrote. “But his awareness, accuracy, touch and mobility makes him one of the more intriguing dual-threat quarterbacks in college football.”

Beyond Sanders, quarterbacks also make up the field of favorites to go No. 1. Three quarterbacks were selected with the first three picks in this year’s draft and a record six quarterbacks were selected with the first 12 picks of the draft.
