NFL Week 15 highlights: Ravens, Browns, Buccaneers, Chiefs, Bills win, more
Week 15 of the NFL season continues Sunday with a stacked, 11-game slate, and we’ve got you covered with all the highlights from start to finish.
Here are the top moments!
Baltimore Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars
Lamar Likely making plays
Lamar Jackson turned nothing into something on the Ravens’ second play of the game, dancing around in the backfield before finding Isaiah Likely for an 18-yard reception. The play helped Baltimore eventually get into field goal range to take an early 3-0 lead.
Jenkins jumps in front of it
After Brandon McManus missed field goals on consecutive drives, the Jaguars’ defense picked him up in a big way. Rayshawn Jenkins jumped in front of Jackson’s pass on second-and-3 to come up with the interception and give the Jaguars possession near midfield.
Lawrence loses it
The Jaguars looked poise to finally get on the scoreboard just a little after the midway point of the second quarter. But Trevor Lawrence‘s run on third-and-17 messed up those plans as the quarterback lost the ball as he was running downfield, giving the Ravens the ball back with a 3-0 lead.
Likely scoring
The Ravens were able to pick up seven points right before the half as Jackson marched his squad down the field, completing 6 of 7 passes on their final drive of the half. The final completion was a dart to Likely in the end zone, extending the Ravens’ lead to 10-0.
All the way to Agnew
The Jaguars finally found their way onto the scoreboard in the opening part of the second half when Lawrence hit Jamal Agnew for a 65-yard touchdown to make it 10-7. It was also the longest touchdown pass of Lawrence’s career.
FINAL: San Francisco 49ers 45, Arizona Cardinals 29
Strong start for Cardinals
Cardinals tight end Trey McBride came up with a pair of completions that combined for 49 yards on the opening possession, and James Conner finished off the drive with a 2-yard rushing touchdown.
Wide open
San Francisco scored a touchdown on its first possession when Brock Purdy hit wide receiver Deebo Samuel for a 12-yard score.
Pick-six!
The Cardinals went for it on fourth-and-3, and the decision backfired, as 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward intercepted Kyler Murray and ran the pick back 66 yards for a touchdown.
All is well
After briefly leaving the game, Purdy bounced back with a 5-yard touchdown pass to running back Christian McCaffrey.
They’re explosive
Going to his left, Purdy hit a wide-open McCaffrey on a deep ball, and the star running back was able to get back on his feet and into the end zone for a 41-yard score.
Knifing in there
McCaffrey ran in a 1-yard touchdown late in the third quarter, giving San Francisco a 35-16 lead.
Deebo’s somewhere
Emari Demercado ripped a 49-yard touchdown run for the Cardinals, but the 49ers quickly answered. Purdy threw up a deep ball, and Samuel came down with a contested, 19-yard touchdown catch near the pylon for San Francisco, which took a 42-22 lead.
FINAL: Los Angeles Rams 28, Washington Commanders 20
The balance
Rams tight end Tyler Higbee was able to keep his feet in bounds for a superb, toe-tap catch to move the chains.
Rams TD
The Rams put a field goal on the board on their first possession of the game and then took a two-score lead late in the second quarter when Kyren Williams ran in a goal-line touchdown. They led 13-0 at halftime.
Electricity
On the second play of the second half, Matthew Stafford hooked up with wide receiver Cooper Kupp for a 62-yard Rams touchdown.
Life!
Washington got on the board midway through the third quarter when Sam Howell hit wide receiver Curtis Samuel for a 19-yard touchdown.
Rams in control
Stafford hit wide receiver Demarcus Robinson for an 18-yard Rams touchdown. They then converted a two-point attempt, taking a 28-7 lead.
QB change leads to TD
Washington put Jacoby Brissett in at quarterback, and the first drive resulted in Brissett hitting wide receiver Terry McLaurin for a 29-yard touchdown.
They made it close
Brissett hit McLaurin for a 48-yard completion, putting the ball on the Rams’ 1-yard line, as shown below. An arduous seven plays later, Brissett hit Samuel for a 3-yard touchdown. That said, Washington’s extra point attempt was blocked, and Los Angeles ran out the clock on the ensuing possession.
FINAL: Buffalo Bills 31, Dallas Cowboys 10
Just keeps going
On the opening possession of the game, Bills running back James Cook kept churning, got some help and pulled off a 12-yard carry, as shown below. Latavius Murray finished off the drive for Buffalo with a 2-yard rushing touchdown.
Tempers flare
Both teams got heated midway through the first quarter.
Zack Martin hurt
The Cowboys right guard suffered a quad injury late in the first quarter and was questionable to return, according to FOX Sports NFC East Reporter Ralph Vacchiano. Martin was later ruled out early in the third quarter.
Home Cookin’
Eleven plays after forcing another Dallas punt, Buffalo scored its second touchdown when Josh Allen hooked up with Cook for an 18-yard score.
Power football
Late in the second quarter, Allen smacked in a goal-line touchdown on the ground for the Bills, giving them a 21-3 lead.
Solid grab
Faced with a third-and-9, wide receiver Stefon Diggs pulled off a one-handed snag to move the chains for Buffalo.
Running away with it
Early in the fourth quarter, Cook thundered through the Dallas defense for a 24-yard rushing touchdown. Buffalo led 31-3.
FINAL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 34, Green Bay Packers 20
Krafty
Two plays after the Packers recovered a fumble, Jordan Love hit tight end Tucker Kraft, who knifed his way into the end zone for a 5-yard score, giving them a 7-3 lead.
Bucs get it back
On the seventh play of the ensuing possession, Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield connected with wide receiver Mike Evans in the back of the end zone for a 19-yard score.
What a throw!
Mayfield threw a dime to running back Rachaad White, who maneuvered his way through the Green Bay defense for a 26-yard touchdown.
I’m in!
Love evaded a sack attempt and threw up a deep ball for wide receiver Jayden Reed, who was able to get both feet in bounds for a 17-yard Packers touchdown.
Gritty TD
Mayfield hit tight end Ko Kieft for a 2-yard touchdown near the pylon.
Off he goes!
Mayfield hit David Moore in traffic, and the wide receiver proceeded to run through the Packers defense for a 52-yard touchdown, giving the Buccaneers a 34-20 lead.
FINAL: Carolina Panthers 9, Atlanta Falcons 7
ATL TD
Two plays after Desmond Ridder found tight end Jonnu Smith, who thundered down the field for a 56-yard pickup, Cordarrelle Patterson scampered into the end zone for a 2-yard Falcons touchdown .
Panthers win at the buzzer!
Carolina put three field goals on the board, including a 23-yard field goal from kicker Eddy Pineiro as time expired, capping off a 7:35 drive to end the game.
FINAL: Cleveland Browns 20, Chicago Bears 17
Spinning and winning
Chicago broke the ice early in the second quarter when Justin Fields, who spun out of a sack, found tight end Cole Kmet for a 5-yard touchdown.
Got ’em in bounds
Browns quarterback Joe Flacco went to his right and threw up a pass in the back of the end zone for tight end David Njoku, who pulled off a terrific 2-yard touchdown reception.
Pick-six!
Flacco’s pass was bounced around, and Bears linebacker Tremaine Edmunds ultimately pulled off the interception and ran it back 45 yards for a touchdown.
Browns tie it!
Flacco threw a pass into a tight window with three defenders in the area, but it was enough for wide receiver Amari Cooper to reel it in and rumble down the sideline for a 51-yard, game-tying touchdown.
Browns take the lead!
Njoku pulled down a pair of receptions that combined for 65 yards, helping get the Browns into field goal range. Later in the drive, kicker Dustin Hopkins connected on a 34-yard field goal with 32 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
Pain …
Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney almost came down with a Hail Mary pass attempt as time expired in the fourth quarter.
FINAL: New Orleans Saints 24, New York Giants 6
Excuse me?
New York got the ball into New Orleans territory on the opening possession when Tommy DeVito somehow hit running back Saquon Barkley for a 17-yard gain. The Giants later got a field goal.
Carr with a strike
Derek Carr hit wide receiver Keith Kirkwood for a 7-yard touchdown, giving the Saints the lead late in the first quarter.
Right down the field
Carr found an open Juwan Johnson for a 23-yard Saints touchdown to open the second half.
Still going strong
Early in the fourth quarter, Carr hit tight end Jimmy Graham for a goal-line touchdown, giving the Saints a 24-6 lead.
FINAL: Kansas City Chiefs 27, New England Patriots 17
Tossing it around
Kansas City shuffled the ball around behind the line of scrimmage, with wide receiver Rashee Rice eventually registering a 4-yard touchdown.
Zappe to Henry
Faced with a fourth-and-1, Patriots quarterback Bailey Zappe hooked up with tight end Hunter Henry for a 16-yard touchdown.
Chiefs strike
Patrick Mahomes got the ball out to Jerick McKinnon, and the running back got into the end zone for an 8-yard score. Kansas City led 14-10 at halftime.
Chiefs capitalize
Two plays after the Chiefs picked off Zappe, Mahomes threw up a pass for running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who pulled off a tremendous, 6-yard touchdown reception.
FINAL: Houston Texans 19, Tennessee Titans 16 (OT)
I got this!
Quarterback Will Levis finished off Tennessee’s first possession with a goal-line score on the ground. That said, the Titans missed the extra point.
Pick-six!
Case Keenum‘s pass was intercepted by Elijah Molden, and the cornerback ran it back 45 yards for a Titans touchdown.
Tie game!
Houston put together a 97-yard, game-tying touchdown drive, culminating with Keenum hitting wide receiver Noah Brown for a 3-yard score. The game went to overtime.
Texans win!
Ka’imi Fairbairn made a 54-yard field goal as time expired in overtime to get the Texans a road victory.
FINAL: Miami Dolphins 30, New York Jets 0
Phins make a play
Bradley Chubb strip-sacked Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, and the Dolphins fell on the loose ball, as shown below. Three plays later, Raheem Mostert ran in a 2-yard touchdown.
He Waddles
Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw up a deep ball, and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle brought it down and ran it 60 yards for the touchdown. Miami led 17-0.
From 6 to 9
Mostert ran around the line of scrimmage and eventually into the end zone for the goal-line score, giving the Dolphins a 24-0 lead.
Zach Wilson hurt
New York’s quarterback left the game in the second quarter with a head injury and was ruled out. Trevor Siemian came in at quarterback.
