U.S. details $1.5 billion Daimler diesel emissions settlement

In addition to a civil penalty of $875 million, the settlements with the U.S. and California require Daimler to address the vehicles’ excess emissions. The automaker will issue recalls and extended warranties but is not required to buy back vehicles.
